Building Maintenance Custodian – Part Time

The Part time Building Maintenance Custodian performs minor maintenance and cleaning tasks in the Recreation Facilities. The hours for this position are not guaranteed, but typically work primarily evenings and weekends, approximately 4 – 16 hours per week, at an hourly rate of $22.27. Part Time - Concession Staff
The Shuswap Recreation Society is seeking applications for part-time concession workers at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm. Reporting to the Food Services Manager, concession workers are expected to provide a high level of food quality and customer service to the patrons and visitors at the Shaw Centre.
Shifts are scheduled for evenings, weekends and Silverbacks game nights.
Position details are as follows:
Expectations:
• Customer Service;
• Basic food preparation;
• Cash handling;
• Inventory counts;
• Cleaning;
• Compliance with designated policies and procedures;
Candidates will be required to obtain a “Foodsafe” certificate prior to starting work.

Part Time Arena Attendant
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the installation and resurfacing of ice at the arena, including the operation and maintenance of equipment such as the ammonia refrigeration plant and ice resurfacer. This position also provides custodial service and minor repairs and maintenance for the building’s washrooms, dressing rooms, etc.
Candidates for this position will have their BC Refrigeration Operators Certificate (Ice Facility Operator may be considered) and a minimum of 1-year experience in the maintenance and operation of an ice arena. Remuneration for this position is in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement, $30.91/hr plus 14% in lieu of benefits. This is a seasonal position with varying hours.

Building Maintenance Worker (PT)
The Shuswap Recreation Society has an immediate opening for a Part-time building maintenance/custodial worker for a minimum of 20 hours per week. The incumbent performs minor maintenance and cleaning tasks in the Recreation Facilities. This position works a variety of shifts, primarily evenings and weekends. The rate of pay will be determined based on experience.

Board of Directors
The Shuswap Recreation Society is seeking Citizens at Large to join our Volunteer Board of Directors for a term of up to three (3) year commencing as early as August 23, 2022. The Society is looking for individuals with interest in our community recreation programming and facilities.
The Board acts as an oversight and advisory body to manage and operate City of Salmon Arm recreation facilities and programs.
The current Board will select and appoint new Board members.
A summary of the objectives and duties of the Board can be obtained on request from the Society at the address noted below.
