City of Salmon Arm Parks

The City of Salmon Arm Parks Department has many public parks, Marine Peace Park, McGuire Lake Park, Blackburn Park, Fletcher Park, Klahani Park and Canoe Beach Park.  Marine Peace Park, Blackburn Park, Canoe Beach Park  and McGuire Lake Park all have rentable structures through Salmon Arm Recreation.

Marine Peace Park

  • Shuswap Arts Councils hosts "Wednesdays on the Wharf" - every Wednesday from June to the end of August


The Raven Trail connects Marine Park to the Raven Subdivision along the scenic Salmon Arm Bay waterfront. This 4km trail is a popular venue for walking, running, cycling, nature walks, bird watching and hosting fun runs.


McGuire Lake Park

McGuire Lake Park is a gem located in the centre of town with a beautiful fountain and plentiful gardens. The park is a popular place to walk and have picnic lunches. There is a paved walkway around the perimeter of the park that is wheelchair accessible. There are three parts of the park that are available for bookings: Japanese Friendship Gate, Picnic Table area and Willow Trees. The park is abundant with small wildlife both on the water and along its shores.

Japanese Friendship Gate

The Friendship Gate is in the centre of McGuire Lake Park. It is a popular place for photos. The Friendship Gate was a gift from Inashiki, Japan; Salmon Arm's sister city.

Picnic Table Area 

On 6th St. NE and Trans Canada Hwy NE on McGuire Lake - next to Downtown area. This area has beautiful grassy areas and picnic tables to enjoy picnic lunches and quiet moments enjoying the area. 

Willow Trees 

On 10th St. NE - next to Shuswap Lake General Hospital. This area is very popular for weddings and photos. There is no power available at this site.


Canoe Beach and Park

7720 36th Street NE

A large public sandy beach located on the shores of Shuswap Lake. Ideal for corporate picnics and large group gatherings.

Note: This park is not available for private bookings. Use of the shelter for group functions is on first come first serve basis. Use of the park is on a public basis and no private areas can be expected.
